We need your help! You will be receiving a notice from us by mail followed by a Survey Notice.
Why am I receiving this notice?
We are surveying all customers within our service area because:
We are applying for assistance from the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development (USDA-RD) program to pay for phase three and phase four of our Water System Improvements Project which consists of a new well (well 7), destruction of well 6, and water treatment facility improvements.
What is an MHI Survey?
An MHI survey is a Median Household Income study that is performed to find the range of income in our community. The state’s guidelines for Disadvantaged communities are constantly changing with the cost of living, and we need to have the most accurate data to qualify for low interest loans or grants.
Who is performing the study?
Specialized Utility Services Provider (SUSP) Engineering is a third-party contractor approved by the state to perform MHI Studies within California. For more information on SUSP visit www.suspeng.org.
Why should I participate?
Your honest and prompt survey response will give us a clear idea of whether our community qualifies for low cost or free state funding.
How does this help our community?
With the growing cost of living, changes to water industry guidelines, your participation could mean more funding for our Small Water system.
What do you do with the surveys or Data collected?
All the personal identifiable information is removed, and the Surveys are randomized. Data that is collected is stored only as long as necessary to complete the survey or receive state approval, per the CCPA (California Consumer Protection Act).
